Perinatal Massage

Our perinatal massage services are for all bodies who are or have been pregnant, with an emphasis on providing supportive and informed care for queer and trans people navigating the experience of pregnancy. We work cooperatively alongside your care team to encourage optimum health outcomes whether you are in the first, second, third and fourth trimester. Postnatal massage may involve specialized care after birth, miscarriage or termination of pregnancy.

Oncology Massage

Oncology massage is the modification of massage therapy to safely work with the effects of cancer and cancer treatment. Everyone affected by cancer - people in active treatment, those in recovery and remission, those at the end of life, and even caregivers - can benefit from oncology massage. Clinical assessments and adaptations to the massage session for those affected by cancer are critical and are approached on an individual basis. Adaptations may include considerations of pressure, duration, bolstering, infection protocols and therapeutic environment to support positive outcomes for the client. A specialized intake process equips the therapist with the knowledge necessary to offer a session according to best practice.

Medical Recovery Massage

This treatment is designed for those preparing for medical treatment, recovering from a medical procedure or wishing to address scar tissue. Treatment goals may include improving efficacy of anesthesia or pain management through a surgical procedure, reducing swelling and inflammation, addressing range of motion restrictions and supporting the development of healthy scar tissue for optimal wound healing. In cooperation with the guidance of your surgeon and care team, massage therapy may be an appropriate post-surgical intervention between four and six weeks after surgery or as soon as the incision sites have closed. At Cloud House we are always willing to speak with your medical team to assess risks and integrate care.

Massage therapy benefits are cumulative and sustained through regular investment, and are also part of a preventative model of care. This may be especially useful if you are undergoing a course of medical treatment, navigating a significant physical event such as pregnancy or gender affirming transition, have collaborated with your therapist on a treatment plan to address a specific patient outcome, or have been referred to a massage therapist by another medical professional on your care team. Package codes may also be shared among multiple clients.
Gift Certificates can be delivered directly to the recipient through email and also come with a printable certificate for a more personalized gift. The digital booking code can be used towards any services or combination of services, at your convenience and within two years of purchase.

Travel Massage
A therapist is available to travel to a location of your choosing (typically a home or office setting), with priority to clients for whom this would meet an access need. Travel sessions requests can only be made through email, and cannot be booked through the website. A phone consultation prior to booking ensures that both practitioner and client are equipped with everything they need for a safe and beneficial session.
